TP, GN & HC are all abbreviations.
GN stands for Graphic Novel, a name for a stand-alone story.
TP stands for Trade Paperback, a collection of issues with soft cover.
HC is an abbreviation for Hardcover, a collection of issues or an isolated story with a hard cover.
The TP and HC version of a collection almost always has the same content.
The difference is in the materials used.
